SEARCHING.....

What's up ladies, since stumbling upon my new found sense of freedom ( lol) I am in a severe search for some really good natural hair products that will help me take care of and maintain my "fro" . After reading many, many posts from a lot of you I am a bit overwhelmed as to which product is right for the look I'm aiming to achieve. So if any of you ladies have any suggestions for a good hair line or product, please share. Thanks a bunch.

Oyin Handmade's products are nice. I REALLY love their Shine and Define!

Giovanni has nice sulfate free shampoo and it's at Wal-Mart!

Herbal Essences's Hello Hydration conditioner is really nice to the hair.

Nexxus Dualiste Conditioner (the blue one) is GREAT as well.

Hey zainab1,

When I first BC'd, I used Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-in Conditioner under their Curling Custard in an effort to keep my curls defined once dry.

As my hair grew longer, I decided to give up the wash and go styling and opted for braid and twist sets to keep my hair from drawing up and tangling.

I hear a lot of folks using styling gels over moisturizers to obtain the wash and go looks. There was a youtube comparison of Kinky Curly versus IC Styling Gel and the results were very similar but the lady used way to much of both products in my opinion. It takes very little Kinky Curly to get great results.

I did find Kinky Curling Curling Custard to leave the hair very dry. I was going to try it a while back for a twist set but decided that I no longer like the way it makes my hair feel.

There are many good natural moisturizers on the market. Qhemet Biologics is my fave. Next in line for me was Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Cream. Many people love Oyin Shine and Define, Shea Butter, and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Walmart Vitamin Section) but shea butter and coconut causes my adult acne to flair so I can't use them).

I couldn't find your email address on your blog profile but you can contact me directly at mine (rcarson@triad.rr.com) if I can be of any help.
