~FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE GREEN HOUSE EFFECT & 3 MONTH CHALLENGE....

Hello ladies!

I just wanted to do a quick post on my first impression on the green house effects.  I have had great results with this method , thus far.  In fact I have the green house effect on my hair as I am typing this post. The results from my previous application were, soft, shiny and very hydrated curls.  I simply wet/ damped my hair and applied my herb infused EVOO to my hair only not my scalp.  I then placed a plastic shower cap over my damp hair, over that I placed a scarf, over that I placed my satin bonnet.  I did this for the entire day and night, its said to do so over night ( I plan to try it both ways to compare the difference).  When I woke up the next morning I did not wash or rinse the oil out of my hair I proceeded to style, and go.

I am very careful not to use to much oil, ( I tend to be heavy handed) because I am not into oily hair, not to mention I cover my hair upon going out with a hijab( headcover) and I do not wish to mess any of my hijab's up due to excessive oil on my hair.  To my surprise the oil absorbed very well into my hair and my hair wasn't oily at all.

For today's method I simply reactivated the oil that was already in my hair , NOT APPLYING MORE OIL. This is very important not to do, this is where overly oiled hair could come into play. I simply damped my already oiled hair from two days before, and followed the other steps, covering with a plastic cap, then scarf, then bonnet.

Its said you can rinse , CO-wash or shampoo your hair as you see fit as long as its all natural cleansing products.  When doing this again I plan to use different oils one by Qhemet Biologics and the other by hairveda, on seperate occasions.   look out for those results.

I've decided to do a 3 month challenge using this method. Which will begin today until october 25, 2011. It's said   you can do this method as many times you like throughout the week.  The purpose of this method is to promote hair growth by creating a natural steamy environment that allows the natural oils from your scalp  to come out. and is great for those who suffer from dry scalp.

If any of you ladies are interested in joining me for this 3 month challenge feel free and comment below.  I've learned about this method from a young lady by the name of Meeka Jael, I believe she may be the originator of the green house effect.  I will gladly leave the link below , there are a few videos there in which can help if there are any questions.

I will keep you ladies on my progress. Thanks for stopping by.....and remember to stay...Natural Fabulous!

TAKE CARE :O)

@Precious..As do I!:). It seems I am the last to know about the green house effect...I'm a late comer (lol). Although I have tried baggying ...baggying has never given me the softness, shine and hydration . Like the green house effect. I am really enjoying the results from this method....thus far:))

Thanks a bunch for stopping by precious, take care.

Hi, you should let us see actual pictures. I think the purpose of this is to show the progression of your hair growth. As far as the greenhouse effect, I personally started using it before surprisingly finding it on You tube. I used it because I thought that years ago when ppl were doing the "Jhery Curl" they moisturized their hair and used a plastic cap. The growth of their hair was amazing! I believe it was due to the activator and the cap. So I thought I would try it with JBCO. Then I foud that my hair was wet in the morning. Then all of a sudden I thought I might cause mildew or something in my hair so I stopped using it. Then lo and behold I saw the Greenhouse Effect on You Tube and was shocked! So after reading more information on what the actual purpose is I have gone back to using this method as my hair is very dry.

@newbie2GHE...I do not show my hair for religious reasons, with that being said my purpose for doing the GHE is not for growth ( I like my hair short) its for aiding in keeping my hair healthy, moisturized, and it has helped my ends a bunch!. I have had really great results using the ghe.

Thanks for stopping by, and sharing your thoughts with us. Take care :))

I tend to find that my hair smells like vinegar after the greenhouse method. Is this normal?

Hi Janna,

Sorry to hear this is happening to you. I'm not sure if it's the result of it sitting on your hair thats causing the smell, mixed with maybe sweat. Not really sure. Maybe try to cut the amount of time its staying on your hair.

Hope this helps Thanks for stopping by . Take care.
