~ THE CONDITION -WASH- CONDITION METHOD~....

Hey there Fabulous Fellow Naturals!

I hope every one is well :)).  I saw this post over at Naturally Curly. com. And Thought it was worth sharing, especially because I have used this method in the past and it wasn't bad.  Now that the colder season's are quickly approaching, some of us choose to rule out shampooing our hair during this time because the the dryness shampoo may cause.  Then there may be those Naturals who are strictly co-washers and wash 1x monthly ( like myself).  Then you have those who must shampoo there hair...no matter what.

Here is a bit of what was shared at Naturally Curly. As An addition to your shampoo. I must add that I have used this method in the past and I saw a difference. Oppose to " strictly shampoo". Here is what was said:

THE CONDITION-WASH-CONDITION METHOD

There are many ways to wash and condition your hair, but one method has recently gotten the curly hair community buzzing: the condition-wash-condition method.

This method is gaining popularity, putting it neck and neck with co-washing and many are wondering what it is exactly. There’s no right way to do it, only a right way for each person. Like everything in your curly hair routine, follow the steps below and then tweak the method until you get the best for you and your curls.

Does it Even Work?

For the curlies or the dry hair sufferers out there, the condition-wash-condition method is the perfect option to give hair a break. Many complained of co-washing because too much conditioner and not enough washing can cause dandruff, scalp itch, irritation and even breakouts.

If you’re one of those people who isn’t sure, or has already tried it, you might have not found the right way for you. Some people in hair forums discussed how they tried it months before and had not seen the difference. Those people tried it again, and found an amazing transformation. Products, duration of each step, and times per week all have to be considered in order to accommodate each individual.

What a gorgeous photo!

Thanks for sharing this. I will try this next time. I've been doing something similiar. The only difference is that I apply conditioner first to detangle, then rinse it out. Then I shampoo. And then I condition again.

This method actually cuts a step out, so I'll definitely try it out.

I love co-washes and also clarifying my hair every 4 to 6 weeks.
I don't use a lot of leave in like I used to. I only use leave in on wash days to cut down on build up. However, I use shea butter to seal moisture into my hair, which I only do twice a week, hence reduction in product build up.

Like you said, a number of factors have to be considered when using this method.
I believe at some point you have to use shampoo or a clarifier either once a month or every six weeks.

I used to deep condition before washing, then wash and then condition again. So I guess I tried this method. I think the products used far outweigh the method. I now use Terresentials mud hair wash. I don't use conditioner at all now. The only time I do is after an Aphogee protein treatment which is once per month. The products make all the difference in my opinion. The hair wash leaves my hair super soft and defined.
