~OIL INFUSION FOR DANDRUFF OR DRY SCALP~
Hello ladies!
How I hope all is well with everyone:). As some of you ladies may know I looove my herb infused oils and spritz. Today I bring you a great, effective , easy and even better...a natural way to aid in dandruff or dry scalp. Below I will post a very simple way of doing so, this recipe can be made as a oil infusion or a spritz your choice. Before we start let me say when I infuse my DIY's I use heaping tablespoons or a great amount of herbs. I like the infusions to be strong. So I will not list the measurements below, because you can use as much or as little as you like. You do not have to use as much, the results should be the same. Now let's get started:
YOU WILL NEED:
Horsetail ( also great for hair growth, split ends, and dull hair )
Burdock Root ( also great for shine & luster, hair growth , split ends, dry hair, growth, and damaged hair)
Chamomile ( also great for dry hair, sensitive scalp, and itchy scalp)
White Willow ( also great for scalp irritation, and shine & luster)
Coltsfoot ( also great for hair growth, split ends, and growth )
NEXT
Gather your jar, herbs, etc. If infusing in oil of choice ( i.e EVOO, Jojoba, etc) after placing herbs into jar pour your oil over that. You can allow your herbs to sit in a dark cabinet to infuse. Or you can place your herbal mixture in a window seal allowing the sun to aid in the infusion. You can do this either way from anywhere to a few days , weeks , or months. I have let my infusion's sit for 6 months at a time ( but , you must chance the herbs every month) the longer it sits, the stronger the infusion.
OR
You can use the very same herbs , boil some water pour your hot water over the herbs into a container. Allow this to infuse for a few hour's to overnight. Drain the herbs and there you have an herbal spritz. From there you can add Essential oils, Aloe juice ( I always add Aloe , love that stuff). pour into a spry bottle and store in the refrigerator.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, And, remember to stay....Naturally Fabulous!
ENJOY!:)

WINTER RECIPES WITH SPICE...
Hey ladies!
One of my favorite places to buy my herbs is mountain rose herbs. Not only do they have great quality, and a large and great selection of herbs, etc. They also have great tips, recipes and ideas. These particular recipes are a great edition to your personal wintertime treats. Lots of these little numbers are often provided due to the upcoming holidays for those who celebrate them. But, I simply love them because they can be used simply because its the winter season. And sometimes due to the colder weather our skin can become dry and or sensitive so why not pamper ourselves. Take a look:

VANILLA INFUSED BODY OIL...
About Vanilla
Did you know that Vanilla Beans come from gorgeous orchid flowers? Growing Vanilla is truly labor intensive. Every orchid must be hand pollinated by farm workers who carefully transfer the pollen from the anther to the stigma of the flower. The Vanilla flower has a very short life span, and only blooms for less than a day. This means that the growers have to inspect their plantations daily for open flowers to pollinate.
6-9 months after pollination, the long green pods begin to turn yellow at their tips, which means that they are ready to be harvested. The Beans are picked and then cured for 3-6 months on drying racks in the sun and in special conditioning rooms. During this time, they develop the dark color, rich aroma, and delicious flavor that we all know and love. Aside from culinary use, we can also harness the intoxicating aroma of Vanilla for body care recipes. What could be better than adorning ourselves with the exquisite scent of orchids?
Vanilla Recipe
A delectable Vanilla infused oil which can be used for massages or as a moisturizing body oil.
- 2 organic Vanilla Beans
- 1 cup organic Jojoba Oil
Slice Vanilla Beans lengthwise and cut into small pieces. Place in a glass jar, cover with oil, cap, and shake well. Store in a sunny and warm windowsill for 1-2 months and shake daily. When the oil has reached the desired strength, strain the Vanilla Beans out using cheesecloth and pour the infused oil into a bottle. You can even make a more concentrated version of this oil to use as a natural perfume!
ENJOY!!!

HERBAL SHAMPOO....
RECIPE TIME...
Certain herbs added to your favorite shampoo can bring out your hair's natural highlights. Chamomile makes a mild shampoo that is perfect for fine, light-colored hair; the flowers have a mild bleaching effect. If you have dark hair, use rosemary or lavender to enhance your own natural color. Hibiscus flowers: These will give red highlights to light or dark hair. Use dry flowers or herbal tea containing hibiscus flowers. Steep the flowers in boiling water to the shade you desire. Cool; strain before using. Remember you can always go darker, so start out with a weak mixture.
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons dried or 1/3 cup fresh chamomile, lavender or rosemary ( or your favorite herb)
1/2 cup your favorite Shampoo
2 tablespoons glycerin
Mix together the water and herbs and heat gently to make a strong tea. Let the mixture steep for at least 20 minutes. Add shampoo and glycerin to the herbal water mixture and stir well.
Pour shampoo into a clean squeeze bottle or empty shampoo bottle. Let the mixture sit overnight to thicken.
You can adjust this little number to your liking. I have been using a daily spritz that I made here http://aunaturale007.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-07-21T05%3A54%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=7 titled "recipe time" which included hibiscus flowers...ladies, let me tell you the wonderful herb is sure to lighten your hair over time to a very pretty faint reddish tone highlight . So, if your looking for natural reddish highlights try the hibiscus flower in one of your recipes...it may be the what you are looking for.
ENJOY!!!

RECIPE TIME...
Hello fabulous naturals !
This weekend I did a lot of herbing, which is really something I love to do. And I came up with this little number, you can use this as a water /glycerin spritz ( which is the one choose to try weekend ) or an oil herbal infusion....
Burdock Root
Marshmallow root
Nettle
Hibiscus flowers
Irish moss
Horsetail
Lavender flowers
White Willow bark
Distilled Water
Vitamin E
EO's ( optional) Essential oil
When I made this I really didn't do much measuring... I have decided when doing any herbal infusion I really like them to be infused well...so, I use a pretty good amount of which ever herbs I choose to use.
After adding each herb into a jar...I then added hot water, NOT BOILING HOT WATER, especially if your not using a heat resistant glass jar, in that case just boil it enough to get a good steeping for your herbs( if making the water/glycerin spritz).
Allow your herbs to steep for at least 3 hours , the longer they steep the better the infusion . Drain...then you can add your vegetable glycerin, vitamin E and EO's of choose ( I used a few drops of lavender & rosemary)
And there you have it ! I really like this spritz ...I find it cool and refreshing to my scalp.
Keep in refrigerator.
ENJOY!!!
