~ MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR... TO GET MY GARDENING ON ! ~
Hello Curlies!
My favorite time of the year has arrived and I get to do one of the things I enjoy the most...GARDENING!
I enjoy my garden so very much it is one of the most relaxing things for me. I love using bright and vibrant colors, watching them grow to be their fullest, and being out there with nature.
Did you know there are a wealth of other benefits to gardening, besides it is so darn pretty. Gardening helps fight depression, it teaches you patience, it brings out your creativity, and It's great exercise just think of all the squats your doing while gardening, and stretching. when gardening your moving in such ways that you are doing your body good by simply planting something so beautiful.
It said that by simply looking at nature helps in reducing stress. Web MD says:
"Looking at nature, , can aid recovery from stress as measured by changes in brain electrical activity, muscle tension, respiration, and shifts in emotional states, all of which may be linked to better immune function."
It can also help in a healthier, and better way of eating. It seems when you grow your own food you tend to choose a healthier way of eating. Can you imagine how much money you save by growing your own veggie, or herb garden. This is a great addition especially for those who have a large family.
Gardening can also help to heal the mind by interacting with nature, and is so very peaceful. And last but not least it helps in building relationships. This I know to be true every year while doing my gardening it has sparked up many conversations with my neighbors. It has even encouraged some of my neighbors to give it a go at gardening.
There are so many ideas in gardening and landscaping to make your garden your very own , to put your personal touch on your garden setting it aside from others.
A few things I've tried in gardening is to add a bit of landscaping. I've done stones, different color mulch, I normally try to change it each year. I do a different color flower, and or different landscaping. Including investing in perennial flowers, those who return yearly. I love these as they are also money savers.
Personally I enjoy flowering gardens. However I am considering at some point perhaps starting a veggie and herbal garden.
OK, that's it for me today lovelies, I started my gardening yesterday for this year, off to do more! . You Ladies have a fabulous day and weekend!

~ CHOICE'S ~
I will no longer make excuses for why I can’t be my BIGGEST self.
I will no longer cling to old ways of thinking and being that sabotage my abilities to harness my power.
I will see fear and anger and darkness as opportunities for healing and enlightenment.
I’m choosing self-realization, examining the hard stuff, living inside generosity and striving for mastery.

~ RE- POST~
Do the things you use to talk about doing but never did. Know when to let go and when to hold on tight. Stop rushing. Don't be intimidated to say it like it is. Stop apologizing all the time. Learn to say no, so your yes has some oomph. Spend time with your friends who lift you up , and cut loose the ones who bring you down. Stop giving your power away. Be more concerned with being interested than being interesting. Be old enough to appreciate your freedom. and young enough to enjoy it. Finally, know who you are.

~ A LITTLE ABOUT BUTTERS ~
Hello Curlies!
I hope each and everyone of you had a great , yet productive weekend.
As I have shared in a previous post , I currently have a serious love for butters, and buttercreames. Early on in my natural hair journey, I had trouble trying to figure out if they fit in my regimen , or whether my hair liked butters. Well, I have sinced learned the correct way to use them, thus finding that my hair ...LOVES THEM! .
There are soooooo many great natural butters on the market today, and there are a plethora of natural hair line's using a mixture of butters in their products. So lets talk about a few.
Aloe Vera Butter:
Is an extraction of healing aloe gel into coconut oil so that it can be used like a butter. It's said that this butter melts on contact with the skin. Which may mean it absorbs well into the hair. Also having the wonderful healing properties of aloe.
Cocoa Butter:
Theobroma cacao, a prime pressed creamy yellow butter from the seed of the Cacao Tree, has the distinct aroma of chocolate. Cocoa butter easily absorbs into the hair and imparts sheen. It locks in moisture and helps protect the hair shaft. Cocoa butter contains a whole host of nutrients including protein, potassium, calcium, vitamins, magnesium and copper. It is a good hair moisturizer; it is very effective against dry, itchy scalp. The beauty about this butter is that it restores moisture without clogging the pores on your scalp and due to its fatty content and high nutrition; cocoa butter stimulates the growth of hair follicles, which makes it a key ingredient in some hair loss applications. Additionally, it increases hair flexibility and like Castor oil it increases hair thickness. Cocoa butter is very good at protecting hair from chemical and chlorine damage. Hard water with high amounts of chlorine can damage hair, cocoa butter when applied to hair before shampoo, or swimming in a pool can act as a very effective barrier.
IIIipe Butter:
Is obtained from the nuts of a magnificent tree that grows in the forests of Borneo. Illipe Butter is very similar to cocoa butter. And is great for dry and or over processed hair. This butter is very hard in texture and is probably best whipped , perhaps with another butter.
Kokum Butter:
A highly prized butter obtained from a tree in India, is non-comedogenic, high in vitamin E, and rich in essential fatty acids. This butter is said to be great for the skin, as well as the hair. Kokum butter is similar to cocoa butter in its moisturizing benefits.
Mango Butter:
Is a gentle butter obtained from the fruit kernels of the Mango tree. Mango butter replaces moisture, adds softness, elasticity and shine to our hair.Mango butter possesses similar qualities to cocoa butter and Shea butter in the way of consistency and benefits, however it contains higher levels of fatty acid making it a more intensive moisturizer. Lack of moisture in the hair can result in weak, brittle hair and in turn leads to breakage
What I have realized lately is that my hair really appreciates, Cocoa Butter, and Mango butter over Shea butter. I can definitely say when these two butters are in my products I get , soft, hydrated hair with lots of shine.
Thanks for stopping by, Take care. And remember to stay positive, and naturally healthy and fabulous!

~ IS NATURAL HAIR SEXY ?~
Hello Lovelies!
There has been many discussions, and views on natural hair. With that there are some that feel natural hair is sexy, then there are those who feel natural hair is not sexy at all.
Here are some views of men I found in the way of sexy hair, and their thoughts on it being sexy. But First I will share the view of a man I know personally:
Do I think Natural hair is sexy? ...Absolutely!. There is nothing better than a women's natural beauty that the creator has endowed upon her. Not to mention natural hair looks better than weave or chemically treated hair ( i.e relaxed). It feels better, its softer, and smells good. Additionally it's healthier for you.
M. laing, 48
There are other opinions I've found from men:
I like natural hair because it's fluffy, also because it seems more honest. Thinking its harder to maintain Natural hair, so I assume the women is a hard worker, and that's attractive to me.
Love that she can change her hair from long, to a bun, to curls. Sexy.
There is nothing more attractive than a black women who is proud of her hair and let's it show regardless of what society may say or think.
It takes a little more effort to manage that hairstyle ( natural) and it gives an exotic look. In my opinion it shows that she cares about herself and the way she looks.
Yes! I love natural hair on women, Afro, Locs, Curls, the whole gambit. There's something so reassuring about a women comfortable with her natural textured hair.
I think natural hair is very sexy... I think it's because it shows you and who you are ( not behind a mask) it gives you a chance to showcase who you are as a person.
I think it shows the natural beauty of a women. It tells me that the women is is sexy in her own skin ( hair).
I like the Afro form of natural hair, because it reminds me of the retro classy look.
I love these comments these fellas gave. And couldn't agree more . If I'd say so myself! (smiles)
OK, ladies what about you. Do you think natural hair is sexy. And do you feel sexy, adoring your Natural ?
OK, I'll start....heck yes! (lol)
Thanks for stopping by, take care. And remember to stay positive, naturally healthy, and fabulous!

~HAIR TALK THURSDAY IN REVIEW " AS I AM CO WASH & CLEANSING PUDDING"
Hello Ladies!
Today I bring you a review on As I am co wash and cleansing pudding. This seems to be a pretty popular line for lots of naturals. I can not speak for the other products in this line. But the two I will be speaking of today, are pretty good. So let's get right in to it:

Leave on 3-5 minutes in order to eliminate shedding scalp debris.
Rinse well.
Repeat only if necessary to remove excessive product build up.
MY THOUGHTS:
This cleanser has a thick creamy texture, and smells great. It delivers on it's claims. After using this product in my hair, my hair is left feeling cleaned and moisturized. My hair does not feel strip, it feels soft. I feel that this product also does a terrific job at cleansing my scalp as well as my hair. However, I would not use this product daily. For fear of it being to much on my hair strands.
However, if your looking for a product with a lather, you will not find it in this product. There is no lather in this product , but delivers great results and an amazing slip factor.
Another great thing is the price, its very reasonable and can be found on the ground at my local Sally's Beauty supply. The ingredients aren't bad either. One jar will last me for sometime , I am not a shampoo every week natural . I may co wash for 2 weeks then shampoo. Or Shampoo once a month, it all depends. I normally listen to my hair, keeping stock of the products I used on my hair that week.
Will I repurchase yes indeed. This will be a staple in my routine.
AS I AM CO WASH CLEANSING CONDITIONER:
The Price: $8.00/16oz
The Claim:

This cowash is different from any other because it contains a special blend of natural ingredients that work to promote healthy hair growth from the follicular level.
BENEFITS:

This product is thick and creamy in texture, has a great scent. This is a great co wash, I feel this product delivers on it's claims. Leaving my hair feeling very soft, clean and moisturized. I have used this once a week, and more then once a week and I've found the results to be consistent.

~ USING BUTTERS & CREAMS IN THE SPRING, ARE YOU A YEAR ROUND CURLIE ?
Hello Curlies!
With Springs arrival, there are some naturals who ditch certain products and do sort of a spring cleaning of products. Therefore incorporarting certain products during the colder months thus excluding other products during the warming weather.
Butters and creams , has been one of those products I notice lot's of Curlies turn in due to the weather warming up. I on the other hand do not do so. When buying my products particularly speaking butters and creams my intent is to use them year round.
Although, I love my butters and creams some of them can be a bit pricey, but worth it for the health of my hair strands. With that being said, Is it wasteful to have a stash of products from one season to another ?
Some curlies feel it's only needed to use butters and creams in the winter due to the air being drier. Then there are some who continuously use butters and creams but opt for the lighter versions. While other's feel the need to be a bit cautious when applying butters and creams in the warmer months due to the sun rays being stronger, for fear of their hair becoming fried.
Share Curlies, are you a seasonal product lover, Do you find it wasteful to buy products for a particular season? or are you a year round product user ?
Thanks for stopping by Curlies, take care. And Remember to stay positive, Naturally Healthy, and Fabulous!

I absolutely love all of the vitamins, and nutrients mixed in this drink. When drinking I am assured that I am getting a great amount of added nutrients that my body needs and deserves.
The texture of this drink is a powder of course. Its green in color, however it does or can change in color once mixed with your beverage of choice. Its recommended to take one heapingteaspoon with Water, Juice ( orange, apple, cranberry, etc) or tea.

I have yet to mix this powder with tea, so I can not report to you my finding that way. However, I am going to give it try.

~ FRUGAL GREEN CLEANING FRIDAY " DIY SOFT TUB SCRUB"
Hello Curlies!
For today's Frugal Friday I am happy to share a wonderful, effective, toxic and chemical free way to clean your tub and bathroom sink. Using chemical free items you may have in your home. This recipe is easy on the pocket's, super easy to make, long lasting, and yes once again I must mention Chemical free!!
DIY SOFT TUB SCRUB:
Ingredients:
Clean container or jar w/ lid.
3/4 cup of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.
1/4 Cup of Castle Soap.
3-5 Tablespoons of distilled or purified water. ( note: you can use tap water, but distilled water expands the shelf life of your DIY products)
10-15 drops of Essential oil ( I like to use any that carry antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, or antibacterial properties. Examples are as follows : Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, Tea Tree, Sandalwood, etc. I use Tea Tree EO ).
Directions:
Put your Baking Soda into your clean empty container or Jar. Then Add the Castile Soap. Next add your Water. Finally add your Essential Oil's. Stir Until its in a paste like form, or the same consistency as the store brought Soft Tub Scrub. Put your lid on and label your finished product!
*** Tip: If your soft Scrub seems to become thick after sitting for a few days, simply add more water and stir. ***
There you have your very own DIY green cleaning, Chemical Free Soft Scrub. Easy and Simple to make!
This works wonders for my bathroom, it can be used in your bathroom sinks, and tubs. Or anywhere you find it effective. Since using this I will never go back to the store brought version. This is a keeper in my family!
Thanks for stopping by Ladies. Have a fabulous weekend. And remember to stay Naturally Healthy and Fabulous!

*** Because this recipe calls for the use of Essential oils , please use caution and safety. Its recommended while handling essential oils to wear gloves, Should any of the oils get on your skin. Wash your hands with soap and water , immediately. ***

~HAIR TALK THURSDAY IN REVIEW " SOULTANICALS "
Happy Hair Talk Thursday Curlies!
I am super excited to do this review!. Today I will be reviewing a fairly new line called Soultanicals. This company is based out of Brooklyn NY. I heard about this company from a fellow Natural via YouTube she shared how excellent the detangler/leave in from this company. So I hopped on over, and the rest is history.
Let's get into the review.
Customer Service:
The customer service here is excellent. If you have a question they get back to you anywhere from the same day to a day after. I will say , it does take 5-7 days for them to actually ship your products. These products are not made in mass production. They are made fresh as with Lot's of other Natural hair products. It clearly states this on her website.
I didn't have a problem waiting for the products to arrive. I much rather receive my products made frash, than have products that may quickly mold.
Packaging:
My items came in a regular USPS box, sealed for protection. Once your items ship they send you a tracking number and arrive quickly, safe and sound. With my items, I received a 10% off code which was great!.
Along with that you get a business card and a larger post card. I must say I really like her marketing everything I have read and or received from her always include words of encouragement, and expressing how she appreciates your business. Everything is brightly colored, and neat.
shipping is fairly priced.
KNOT SAUCE:
Price: $13.00 /8 oz
Directions:
On Damp or dry hair, divide tangled, matted or knotted strands into 4-8 sections. Apply a sufficient amount to the entire length of one section at a time and work through with fingers. Use a wide tooth comb to comb through from end to root as coils become irresistibly soft, super -naturally manageable & instantly detangled. Can be used as a conditioner or leave in.
Distilled water bontanically infused with certified Organic Blue Malva, Nettle , Horsetail, Slippery Elm, Oatstraw, Chamomlie...
*** To see the full list of ingredients check here Knot Sauce
My Thoughts:
Let me say now! this is the best leave in I have used in my entire natural hair journey. This stuff makes my hair feel like silk. I kid you not! . This is a rebuy...rebuy..rebuy for me, and total must have in my regimen. As you can see from the picture above it is of a thick , creamy consistency, and smells delish! I use this as a leave in. It does an amazing job at keeping my hair moisturized, works great with the LOLCB method. Plays well with other products, leaves no white cast nor product build up , makes my hair sooooo soft, and provides excellent shine. Absorbs very well into my hair strands. This stuff is the Bomb!
Will I repurchase...Yes! I already have! I am no longer in need of a Leave-in my search is over! this is and will be my leave-in.

My Thoughts:
This is another winner from this line. This is an excellent cream, as pictured above very fluffy in texture. I would consider this to be a lighter cream not to light , but lighter. Smells delish, and provides a power house of moisture. Another thing I appreciate about this product is that you can feel the wetness , due to the water being the first ingredient. This leaves my hair very hydrated, shiny, soooft, plays well with other products, absorbs right into my hair strands does not sit on my hair, nor leaving a white cast, or residue. I use this on wet hair. And it gets the job done!
Will I rebuy Yes indeed! I already have. This puts some of my other butters to shame from some of the older seasoned lines.

My Thoughts :
Yet Again, a superb cream from soultanicals. This is another keeper along with the other two aforementioned. As you can see in the picture above This cream is thick and rich, keeps my hair very hydrated, soft, with a great shine. The smell, is OK. It doesn't smell as good as the other two, but its not horrible. This product preforms and absorbs really well into my hair, leaving no product build up nor a white cast. I use this on my hair wet. It provides long lasting moisture, plays well with other products, and does excellent with the LOLCB Method.
Will, I repurchase yes indeed! already have.
My overall experience:
As you can tell I am very pleased with this company and the products I use from this line. It is quite apparent to that the owner has done her homework as to the ingredients she wanted to use in her products, her marketing, and the needs of her customers.
