JANE CARTERS SCALP NOURISHING SERUM...
Hey ladies!
I am a huge fan of Jane Carters "nourish &shine" and use it often to seal with, or to simply apply a small amount through my entire head. It provides great shine and moisture to my tresses. As of lately I've been considering exploring a few hair serums that are out on the market for natural hair. I know of a few like
Bee mine , http://beemineproducts.com/
La Boutique de Fleurzty http://www.laboutiquedefleurzty.com/
Qhemet Biologics http://www.qhemetbiologics.com/
And Jane carter's solution also has a hair serum She says:
Scalp Nourishing Serum will protect your scalp from the cold (outside) and dry heat (inside) during the winter months. She also goes on to say that her serum is a 100% natural serum composed of pure essential oils in a natural hybrid safflower base, this vitamin rich emollient is the perfect leave-in maintenance product for dry scalp.
Sounds interesting...right ? If any of you ladies are at all interested in giving this little number a go. Feel free to use my coupon code NovSNS2010 at checkout to receive 15% off of your purchase of the Scalp Nourishing Serum ( only).

HER HAIR.... AND MY WISH LIST....
Hello fabulous naturals!
Can I first say her hair is F-I-R-E !!!!!!.... F-L-Y!!!!!...S-H-A-R-P!!!!. love...love...love her hair. There are a few products out there. That I would like to check out. I have heard pretty good things about these products. Some are stylers, some are moisturizers and some are conditioners.
I have been doing slight comparisons on the difference in how my hair reacts between more gel like stylers and creme / butter like stylers. Now, I am still a huge fan of uncle funkys daughter curly magic. But, lately its been hit and miss. Sometimes it gives me curls that I may not be looking for that day. Since my hair has grown , my desired look has changed as well. Not, so much the little skinny type curl ( if you will) more larger fuller looks. And, that's where the creme like stylers come in, what I've noticed is that with these type of stylers I can achieve the bigger look after a dry twist out.
thus far these are the creme like stylers I've used...
Miss Jessies- Quick Curls
http://www.curlmart.com/miss-jessies.html
Not enough moisture but there are ways to make up for the lack of moisture. I will not be using this product again. Due to the second ingredient and the Hydrolyzed proteins it contains. Lately , I've been staying away from any of the proteins with "Hydrolyzed" in front of it. They tend to be of the stronger proteins. And, because I have somewhat finer hair. These type of proteins are to strong for my hair and tends to dry it out over time. The other ingredients don't seem to be that bad, except the second igredient is another name for mineral oil, and they are:
Ingredients
Water, parafffinum liquidum, VP/DMAPA acrylates copolymer, polyquaternium-37, cyclopentasiloxane, grape seed extract, nettle extract, alfalfa extract, betula alba leaf extract, lavender extract, borago officinalis extract, fennel fruit extract, ginger root extract, laminum album flower extract, chestnut extract, calendula officinalis flower extract, sunflower seed extract, matricaria flower extract, linseed seed extract, rosa gallica flower extract, silybum marianum extract, viola tricolor extract, punica granatum extract, honeysuckle flower extract, bergamont fruit extract, apricot kernel extract, hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, PG-propyl silanetriol, fragrance, polyquaternium-11, propylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, cyclohexasiloxane, PPG-5-ceteth-20, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, ceteareth-10, propylene glycol, hydroxyethyl cellulose, disodium EDTA, PPG-1-trideceth-6, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, DMDM hydantoin, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, yellow 10, green 5 .
Afro Veda "Pur whipped Gelly"
I am not a big fan of Afro Veda's products at all. They just don't seem to work for my hair. Now, my youngest natural in the house. Her hair loves 3 of their butters. The pur whipped gelly, didn't do much for my hair right along with the rest of the items I purchased a while ago ( way before the change in price). It left my hair feeling moisturized the first day. But, days following it became quite dry. Will I repurchase this or any item from Afro Veda ...no.
Ingredients:
Aloe Vera, Whole leaf gel, Coconut oil, Almond oil, Herbal oil complex, Vanilla Essential Oil.
Products I plan to try: (God willing)
OYIN HANDMADE
Whipped pudding
Shine & Define
Burnt Sugar hair pomade
Honey Hemp Conditioner
http://oyinhandmade.com/
BEE MINE
Bee Lovely Moisturizing Daily Conditioner
Bee Hold Curly Butter ( Just ordered, Stay tuned for review in a few weeks)
Dejas Hair Milk
Bee.u.ti.ful moisturizing deep conditioner
http://beemineproducts.com/
MY HONEY CHILD
Olive You Deep Conditioner
http://www.myhoneychild.com/home
Donna Marie
Dream Curling Creme
Super Buttercreme
http://www.shopdonnamarie.com/
This list is quite long...I know. And the list above is in no particular order as to which I would like to try first. I plan to try fitting these items in where my budget allows. If any of you ladies have tried any of the products mentioned above. Please share your thoughts and or results.
Thanks for reading!:)
Take care and....
ENJOY!!!

ORI ORGANICS NATURAL HAIR PRODUCT LINE.....
Hey there fabulous fellow naturals,
There is a new natural hair product line out there! for those of you who may not know...or who haven't heard of this line. A fellow fabulous YouTube natural coils kinks curls did a great review on this line " Ori Organics"...I love her reviews because they are honest and detailed. It is said that this line is really, really great. I went to their site and the prices really aren't that bad....plus, they are having a 25% off sale as we speak....annnd the very best part (for me anyway) is that the have samples! ( I'd much rather try out the samples first as a trial , then go from there) I plan to try this company out in the very near future, Check out coils kinks curls review here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcWNmgTJF2Y&playnext=1&videos=2UqUtxsT_dY
Based off of her review and paying the site a visit. The Ori Organics line has pretty good ingredients in there products...and their products are thick and creamy ...not, thin and watered down ( two thumbs up for that , alone). Here is the link to their site http://www.oriorganics.com/
So, skip on over and check out their site and or products.
ENJOY!!!!

Natural organic hair care products give your hair fullness and body from botanical bases, and are free from harmful ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and paraben preservatives.
For healthier hair, choose safer all natural hair products derived from plants, minerals and essential oils instead!
Natural Ingredients Organic Vegan Cruelty Free Non-Toxic Handcrafted Biodegradable Paraben Free
SLS Free - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Free SLES Free - Sodium Laureth Sulfate Free
Are Your Hair Care Products Making You Sick? Find out why you should use Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Free, Sodium Laureth Sulfate Free and Paraben Free hair care products now!
Did you know that what you are putting on your hair day after day, year after year, may be doing much more harm than good? It's true!
Think about this:
Why do your eyes burn when shampoo runs into them?
Is it really "OK" that you are inhaling the hair spray that misses your hair?
What toxic ingredients are penetrating your scalp when using your shampoo and other hair products?
Your skin (including your scalp) absorbs up to 60% of the ingredients (including the synthetic and toxic chemicals) found in the cosmetics, lotions and shampoos you use on a daily basis.
Absorbing natural and organic ingredients from plant oils and waxes, mineral pigments and essential oils is a much healthier alternative!
About Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Paraben Preservatives
Both Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and its close relative Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are commonly used in many soaps, shampoos, detergents, toothpastes and other products that are expected to "foam up". Both chemicals are very effective foaming agents, chemically known as surfactants. However, both come with health risks, are known skin irritants and enhance allergic responses to other toxins and allergens. Although Sodium Laureth Sulfate is somewhat less irritating than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, it cannot be metabolized by the liver and its effects are therefore much longer lasting.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
SLS is used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers, and in about 90% of personal care products that foam. SLS is also absorbed into the body from skin application. Once absorbed, sodium lauryl sulfate mimics the activity of the Oestrogen hormone. This has many health implications and may be responsible for a variety of health problems including PMS, menopausal symptoms, lowered male fertility and increased risk of female cancers such as breast cancer, where oestrogen levels are known to be involved. SLS is frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut".
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)
When combined with other chemicals, SLES can create nitrosamines, specifically 1,4-dioxane, a potent carcinogen. Dioxane readily penetrates the skin. While dioxane can be removed from products easily and economically by vacuum stripping during the manufacturing process, there is no way to determine which products have undergone this process. Labels are not required to list this information. SLES is frequently disguised in semi-natural cosmetics with the explanation "comes from coconut".
Paraben Preservatives
An estrogen mimic, parabens are preservatives with antibacterial properties. Widely used in all kinds of personal care products, paraben is usually preceded by the prefixes methyl-, ethyl-, butyl-, or propyl-. Parabens can cause allergic reactions or contact dermatitis in some people. Preservatives are one of the leading causes of contact dermatitis. There are safer practical alternatives to parabens, including vitamin E, vitamin C and grapefruit seed extract
The Facts:
The average adult uses 9 personal care products daily, exposing them to an average 126 chemicals every day.
One-third of all personal care products contain one or more ingredients classified as possible human carcinogens.
89% of 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have NOT been evaluated for safety.
Over the last 30 years, only 9 of the 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have been banned or restricted.
Source: (Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database)
The Answer:
Keep it simple and natural with safe and non-toxic All Natural Hair Care Products and look and feel fabulous! Stick to Natural Organic Hair Care Products because they work ... and you ARE worth it!
The Benefits:
Look and Feel Better - Many skin problems, such as acne, contact dermatitis, irritations and allergies may disappear once petroleum or synthetic ingredients are removed from your hair care regimen. Using all natural hair products can contribute to healthy, shiny and lustrous hair and a healthy body in the long run.
Avoid the Toxins - Organically-grown natural haircare products are much healthier for the environment, the people who cultivate them, and the people who use them.
Cleaner waterways - Toxic chemicals from non-natural and non-organic hair care products are rinsed off your body and down the drain, potentially contaminating rivers, streams, and harming aquatic life.
Protect animal friends - Most natural organic hair care products are cruelty-free.
Safer - Only 11% of the more than 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have been screened for safety.
Side Note: The chemicals present in any one hair product alone are unlikely to cause immediate harm.
I thought this article was very interesting. It has made me consider as well as being more aware of the products I use in my hair along with the hair products that my entire family uses. Enjoy!!!!
